Hi, I’m Meggen — the heart behind Flower Child Photography.
The name comes from my love of sunflowers and my forever free-spirited soul. I’m a Charleston native through and through, and I truly can’t imagine calling anywhere else home. The marshes, the ocean air, the golden light — this place is part of who I am.
I’m a self-taught intimate portrait photographer based in Charleston, SC. I specialize in Maternity & anything Wedding related.The most meaningful, life-changing, heart-expanding moments. I’m drawn to the in-between — the quiet glances, the deep breaths, the hands reaching for each other. I don’t just take photos; I tell stories. While those two are what I am most passionate about, I also do family portraits, boudoir, senior sessions, lifestyle newborn, birth photography and just about any other photography you can think of.
A little more about me: I’m an avid gamer who loves to wind down at the end of the night with my online friends and play an array of pc games. I am also a proud mama to my sweet little girl, who is somehow already six and completely owns my heart. We live for beach days and soaking up sunshine whenever we can. Our little crew includes a 10-year-old Aussie and our cat, Tinkerbell — because life is always better with animals.
My free spirit feels most alive when I’m traveling somewhere new, creating art, or gathered around my favorite people. When I started this journey twelve years ago, I never could have imagined it would grow into what it is today. What began as a passion slowly became a calling — and now it’s a lifestyle I’m endlessly grateful for.
